Hello, I’m Sylvia. I was diagnosed with cervical Dystonia in 2006, having had symptoms for six years, and various investigations, before that. I will always be grateful to the physio-therapist who advised me to ask my GP for a referral to a neurologist. I’m the only patient my GP has come across with dystonia. I was lucky enough to come across the Blue Mountains and Greater Sydney Dystonia Support Group through a newspaper ad in 2007, and have been a committee member of Dystonia Network Australia since its launch at the Parkinson’s Australia National Conference in Adelaide in 2015.
